With current water conditions in the City of Caney, Friday, February 19 will be a Remote Learning Day for students. Homecoming is still scheduled to take place at halftime of the varsity boy's basketball game Friday evening.

USD #436 Caney Valley will not have school tomorrow, Wednesday, Feb 17th due to local efforts to accommodate the state of emergency issued by the Gov., continued extreme weather conditions, the likelihood of further rolling power outages, as well as the potential restrictions on the flow of natural gas. In discussions with area leaders, I feel this is the best decision for our students, faculty, staff and families. Thank you for understanding.

At the Eureka wrestling Regional today Jake Stanton placed 1st, Heath Ellis and Garret Watson both placed 4th. This qualifies those 3 for the sub-state tournament at Marion on 2/20. Caiden Rupert placed 5th and will go as an alternate. Great job wrestlers and coaches!!
The high school boys’ basketball games vs. Inola, Oklahoma scheduled for Saturday, February 13 have been cancelled. They didn’t have school today and are not allowed to travel tomorrow due to the weather.

Junior high girls and boys basketball games at Cherryvale on Thursday, February 11. Cherryvale will ONLY ALLOW TWO family members entry and both names must be on the admission list. Masks required at all times, please social distance by family. Caney will sit on the South side in both gyms. Middle school gym: A girls at 6:00 followed by the B girls. If school is in session our high school girls and boys basketball teams will host Coffeyville on Wednesday, February 10. Masks required at all times, names must be on our admission list for entry, enter the main South doors, please sit on the South side bleachers. Band parents please sit on the lower level North side by the band. Social distance by only sitting on marked blue tape seat tops. Games in the Secondary gym; the JV boys will begin at 5:00 followed by C team boys playing two quarters, with JV girls playing two quarters around 7:15.
