Lincoln Families, don’t forget about the Scholastic Book Fair going on now in the Lincoln Memorial Elementary library this week! Students have access to the book fair throughout the school day and in-person shopping is available for students and a parent Wednesday and Thursday from 4-7pm. Please enter through the front entry doors, masks must be worn and temperatures will be checked as you enter. There will be limited space so there may be a line. Please practice social distancing. The varsity boys’ basketball team will play their first round of sub-state on Tuesday, March 2. The game will begin at 7:00 pm at Riverton High School. KSHSAA vouchers have been given to the players and cheerleaders, they will hand the vouchers out to their spectators. Entry will only be allowed with the KSHSAA voucher, cost $7 per person, under 5 free but still must have a voucher. Seating for each school will be marked, look for the Caney sign. There are extra KSHSAA vouchers in the CVHS main office, if any Caney fans want to pick up a voucher at CVHS, drop by and pick one up until they are gone. It will still cost $7 once you present your voucher to enter the game at Riverton.

Senior Jake Stanton will be competing in the class 3-2-1A State Wrestling Tournament on Saturday, February 27. This will take place in Hays, Ks. at Fort Hays State University. Jake earned this opportunity with wins at districts, regionals, and sub-state. He is 17-2 going into the state tournament and is a three-time state qualifier and returning 6th place medalist at last year’s 4A state tournament. Good luck Jake as you close out your high school wrestling career at CVHS representing Caney Valley at the State tournament!!

The high school girls and boys basketball games AT Sedan will be played on Thursday, February 25. The four Parents/family members can park in the gym parking lot on the East side of the gym or go around the block and park at the back of the gym in our Northwest lot. Masks are required in the building at all times, no food or drink is allowed in the gym. Admission is - $4/student, $5/adult. The JV girls will play 2 quarters at 4:30, the JV boys will play a full game around 5:10, the varsity girls will start around 6:30 followed by the varsity boys around 8:00. Senior night activities will be held; senior girl/parents will be honored during halftime of the varsity girls game; senior boy/parents will be honored during halftime of the varsity boys game. Masks required at all times, the family names must be on our admission list for entry, enter the main South doors, please sit on the South side bleachers. Social distance by only sitting on marked blue tape seat tops. Games in the Secondary gym; the JV boys will begin at 6:00 followed by the JV girls playing 2 quarters around 7:15. Main gym; varsity girls begin at 6:00 followed by varsity boys around 7:40.

Lincoln students participated today by wearing their Hawaiian attire to celebrate the amazing weather and their return to the playground! In addition, when the temperature reached 33* booster club delivered ice cream sandwiches to the classrooms. #PupNation
