Caney Valley Varsity Football
Jamboree 2019
Friday, August 20th--7:00 p.m.
Our first football jamboree will be held at the Independence football stadium on Friday, August 30 at 7:00 pm.
With the new KSHSAA rule we can now scrimmage other schools in football. There will be a total of 36 offensive plays for each team. Which equals 18 plays against both Independence and Coffeyville for us.
This replaces the inter-squad scrimmage we have had in Caney in the past. JV teams will play on the north end of the field and varsity teams will play on the south end, at the same time. There will be no kick-off or special teams allowed during this jamboree.
All spectators will enter through the main entrance on the southwest corner of the stadium. Admission to the jamboree will be a sports drink for all Caney fans. Independence fans are bringing canned goods for admission.
We are asking everyone to wear RED and make this jamboree a red-out night!
REMINDER, all CVHS Drug Testing Policy signed forms are due to the athletic office tomorrow. Forms need to be signed by parent/guardian and student, then be turned in by Wednesday, August 28!
A special thank you from Lincoln Memorial to Jessica Holeman for livening up the hallways this summer with her AMAZING murals. Jessica volunteered her time and we appreciate all the hard work that went into creating them. #436G2G

Friday morning announcements were packed today with Cub Scout Master Linda Mellen, mystery staff member birthday, and Bucket Filler Friday! This has been a great way to come together and share information as well as celebrate success daily. #436G2G

The teachers’ salad bar has been a great addition at Lincoln! Our food service ladies are “salad” gold! Even though there wasn’t “mushroom” in the lunchroom, they “beet” all odds and made it fit. If you ask “olive” the staff at Lincoln they deserve an increase in their “celery” for all their hard work. Thanks so much for all you do!

Today 5th grade students went over expectations and began to build stamina for independent reading in class! They started with a story from one of Mr. Traxson’s favorite books, Wayside School is Falling Down.

This reminder is in regard to the CVHS 7-12 Drug Testing Policy; the signed paper must be turned in to the school by August 28. Please take care of this now, don't wait and forget about it. Have your student ask for another copy if you have misplaced your original. Thank You!
Please see the attachment regarding the community incident today, August 20th. Thank you again for all the continued support and patience as we navigated this event. We are glad everyone is safe! Have a great evening Bullpups!

On Tuesday, August 20 all junior high practices will end at 5:30, normal time.
We have been cleared from our soft lockdown. We appreciate your patience and understanding. Buses will run as planned, but approximately 45 min behind schedule.
We are now on a soft lockdown - ALL STUDENTS ARE SAFE - we cannot release any students until police and ATF clear us. We apologize for any inconvenience. We will update as more information comes available. Again all students are safe!
We are currently under a hard lockdown at both schools as the city handles a situation. ALL STUDENTS ARE SAFE AND ACCOUNTED FOR. Bus routes are delayed and students will not be released until further notice and clearance from the city.
Today was a start to building a GREAT whole school community with morning announcements in the gym! These kids were ready to Learn, Think, and Care! #436G2G
