First Grade Paleontologists at Work!
Today, our first graders stepped into the shoes of paleontologists, using their trusty excavating tools (toothpicks) to carefully dig fossils (chocolate chips) out of millions of years of rock (cookies)! It was a delicious and engaging way to learn about the fascinating world of fossils and the work real scientists do. Hands-on learning never tasted so sweet!

- Aubree placed 5th and received a **Silver Medal**.
- Karsyn and Lydia placed 2nd and earned a **Silver Medal**.
- Samantha placed 1st, received a **Gold Medal**, and qualified for **Nationals**!

The KDHE Mobile Lab was at our school last week bringing hands-on science fun to grades K-4! Students explored hygiene, learned all about mosquitoes, and even extracted strawberry DNA! We can’t wait to welcome the lab back on the 17th for our 5th and 6th graders to join in the learning adventure!

Project Lead the Way students recently engineered orthotics in the Design and Modeling class, mastered precision drawing for air skimmers, and collected data for performance analysis with charts and bar graphs. 📊✏️
Meanwhile, students are also honing their programming skills by designing flight paths and piloting drones to specific destinations. ✈️🤖
Over at CV West, our Junior High and High School Ag classes are getting hands-on experience and settling into their new learning spaces. 🌱🚜
