Due to the extreme heat coming back, we have decided to move the start time for our cross country meet here in Caney (9/15/26) to a 10:00 am start time. The race order will be the same, only changing the start times.

Our late-start schedule begins this Wednesday, September 16! Late starts will take place on the third Wednesday of each month, giving families the option to enjoy a little extra time in their morning. Regular transportation and student supervision will still be available for those who need it!

Our 4th graders wrapped up CKLA Unit 1: Personal Narratives with some fun, games, and Candy Land!
💡 Did You Know? Candy Land was created in 1948 by schoolteacher Eleanor Abbott while she was recovering from polio in a San Diego hospital. She designed the game to give children in the polio ward a colorful, imaginative escape while they recovered. The goal of reaching “Home” gave children something positive to look forward to.
What a perfect connection to our unit! After learning about a girl’s experience with polio and the power of personal narratives, our students got to play the very game that was inspired by children facing that same illness. ❤️🍬

Biology II for college credit: Our students became stream engineers in the Stream Simulation Lab: Designing a Living Stream! Using sand, rocks, and water, they built their own model streams right in the outdoor classroom to witness earth science in action.Through this hands-on lab, students are discovering how water shapes our world in real-time

With the predicted heat index, Thursday's Jr High football game will now start at 7:30 pm. Volleyball has also been changed to 5:30 to accommodate parents and cheerleaders to not have a long wait time between games.
