Caney Valley proudly represented Kansas—and the voice of rural education—at the inaugural America's Youth AI Festival in Boston, where students from across the nation collaborated to develop recommendations that will help shape the future of artificial intelligence in K–12 education. As an active member of AASA, The School Superintendents Association, Superintendent Blake Vargas advocated for Caney Valley to serve as Kansas' representative, recognizing that our district reflects the experiences of many rural communities across the state. Students Samantha Roberts Dildine and Kinlee Littleford joined him in ensuring that rural Kansas had a seat at the table. PDF of AI Conference Press Release
Student delegates from all 50 states take the Oath of Office inside the Edward M. Kennedy Institute's full-scale replica of the United States Senate Chamber. Designed to mirror the actual Senate floor in the U.S. Capitol, the chamber gave students the opportunity to experience the legislative process in an authentic setting as they were sworn in before debating and drafting recommendations for the future of AI in education.
Before debate began, Kinlee Littleford and Samantha Roberts Dildine took their places in the Edward M. Kennedy Institute's full-scale replica of the United States Senate Chamber. Complete with the same semicircular layout, senators' desks, rostrum, and parliamentary procedures used in Washington, D.C., the chamber immersed students in the legislative process as they worked alongside delegates from all 50 states to shape recommendations for the future of AI in education.
Superintendent Blake Vargas and students Kinlee Littleford and Samantha Roberts Dildine visited the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum as one the outings in the immersive experience in Boston. Behind them is The Victura Sailboat, President Kennedy's beloved 26-foot wooden sailboat, which is prominently displayed outside on the museum lawn from May through November each year

Pool Party Flier for JH Back to School party.

Hello Bullpup Family,

We hope you’re enjoying a relaxing and well-deserved summer! We have an exciting update to share as we prepare for the upcoming school year — Rooms, our new two-way communication platform, is officially live across Caney Valley USD #436!

This transition helps us provide families with one consistent, secure place for communication while also aligning with new requirements under Kansas Law (HB 2299). School employees are now required to communicate electronically with students only through district-approved platforms or district email.

Rooms gives us one place for every conversation — connecting teachers, coaches, staff, students, and families through a secure district-supported platform.

Today, Parents and guardians should have received an email from **accounts@thrillshare.com** with instructions to create their accounts. Once their accounts are set up, this school year families will receive messages and updates directly from teachers, coaches, and school staff through the Caney Valley USD #436 app or a secure mobile web experience.

Rooms is designed to make communication easier and more accessible for everyone:

✅ **Messages families won’t miss** — Delivered through text, push notifications, or email
✅ **One login for everything Caney Valley** — No additional accounts to manage
✅ **Accessible on the go** — Available through a free mobile app or web experience
✅ **One inbox for all updates** — Classroom information, district announcements, and direct messages all in one place
✅ **Communication in families’ preferred language** — Automatic translation options help us better serve all families

As we begin using this new platform, we encourage you to explore the features, update your notification settings, and begin transitioning all student and family communication into Rooms. This change will help us create a more consistent, accessible, and connected experience for our entire Bullpup community.

Thank you for your help as we make this important transition.

We are proud to share that two of our students, Samantha Roberts Dildine and Kinlee Littleford, have been selected to represent Kansas at the Student Senate on AI Policy this summer!

As part of America’s Youth AI Festival in Boston this July, Caney Valley USD #436 students will explore AI’s impact on communities, learn about the legislative process, and debate a first-of-its-kind national AI policy for K-12 schools at the Edward M. Kennedy Institute for the United States Senate.

Caney Valley is proud to be selected for the Day of AI Festival, bringing a rural perspective that represents the communities where many Kansas students learn every day

The student-authored policy will be shared with AASA’s nationwide network of more than 10,000 district leaders, giving our students a real opportunity to influence how AI is used in classrooms across the country.

We could not be more proud to have Caney Valley represented on a national stage.

Follow Day of AI for updates from the festival this July. Presented in partnership with the Edward M. Kennedy Institute and AASA, The School Superintendents Association.
