Our 4th graders wrapped up CKLA Unit 1: Personal Narratives with some fun, games, and Candy Land! 💡 Did You Know? Candy Land was created in 1948 by schoolteacher Eleanor Abbott while she was recovering from polio in a San Diego hospital. She designed the game to give children in the polio ward a colorful, imaginative escape while they recovered. The goal of reaching “Home” gave children something positive to look forward to. What a perfect connection to our unit! After learning about a girl’s experience with polio and the power of personal narratives, our students got to play the very game that was inspired by children facing that same illness. ❤️🍬 Great job, 4th Grade! 🎉

Lincoln 6th graders found themselves in the middle of an incredible adventure—going missing and surviving the Amazon Rainforest! After their journey, they stepped up to the microphone for a press conference to tell their stories, answer questions, and share what they experienced. This speech and language assignment was one you definitely didn’t want to miss! Our 6th graders brought their stories to life and showed off some serious speaking skills! Great job, Bullpups!

The power may have gone out, but that only seems to energize our teachers! Ms. St. John took learning outside for a hands-on lesson about how different colors absorb heat from the sun—and because every great science lesson deserves a snack, the students even got to enjoy a little “science snack” along the way!

Bullpup Families,

We wanted to let you know that Lincoln Elementary, CV West and portions of Caney have recently experienced a power outage. Caney Valley Jr/Sr High has not been affected. Crews are assessing the cause and are estimating time for power to be restored. If you need to reach the Lincoln office before the power is restored, please call the Board Office at (620) 879-9200 and we will communicate with their offices. At this time, we are operating as normal and there are no changes to the schedule. We will continue to monitor the situation, and if it is determined that the outage will be prolonged, we will notify families of any necessary schedule changes. We will update you as we know more. Thank you for your continued support.
